KATHMANDU, MAR 13 - At a time when the CPN-UML is laying claim to the Home portfolio, chief whip Bhim Prasad Acharya has said on Sunday that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) will be given to the UCPN (Maoist).
"The prime minister has kept the MoHA to himself for the time being due to the haggling over the same," said the UML leader at the Reporter's Club today. "Now, the Maoist will be allotted with the Home portfolio."
Leader Acharya claimed that the cabinet will get the first part of its complete shape within a week. Madhesh-based parties will also participate in the Cabinet, he added.
He said that the to-be-formed government will be supported by over two-third majority, including the Madhesh-based parties and other political parties.
Meanwhile, at the same programme, Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party-Nepal (TMLP-N) Chairman Mahendra Yadav, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal (MJF-N) General Secretary Ramsahaya Yadav and Sadbhawana Party Vice Chairman Laxman Lal Karna asserted that their parties won't join the current government at any cost.
TMLP-N Chairman Yadav said that the Madhesh-based parties are planning to strengthen the Madhesi front rather than participating in the government.
Saying that a "mathematically drafted constitution" would not be acceptable to them, Vice Chairman Karna said that the Madhesh-based parties would not take part in the Constitution Assembly if the statute is not promulgated within May. 28.
Likeise, the MJF-N chair said that his party won't consider joining the government unless there is a written commitment on the demand for "One Madhes One Province".
